I love Overbooking!!!

That's right, you read it correctly... due to overbooking, I was upgraded to business class! (as in first class)
Fancy!
So I sat in my seat, and the pilot said the plane would have to wait about 20 minutes before taking off. The steward came right away, asking if we would like to have some water in the meantime. Fine until now, nothing special.
We were flying for about one hour when he came again, asking if we wanted newspapers and magazines... and about half an hour later we were asked if we wanted some "aperitif", which I refused because I thought it had alcohol. The man next to me, however, asked for a tomato juice. It was so weird that when the steward said "miss, are you sure you don't want anything?" I also asked for a tomato juice. And he also brought some peanuts and things like that.
(I must say the tomato juice really was... tomato juice. With salt and pepper to add and all... blargh. It was for free, anyway!)
Some time later, he had these tweezers and he was holding little towels all rolled up. Of course I said yes, completely confused looking at that strange thing "fancy people" use for something that was a mistery to me. Ok, luckily the man next to me knew it was to clean the hands (it was warm and soft, and with a hint of a fruit perfume), so I copied his gestures XD
And then, came the lunch! (around 4.30pm?)
We had to choose between 2 meals, I chose fish. Ok, not "fish", it was "Stone Bass confit with Sparkling Wine and Leek Risotto" (Cherne confitado com Risotto de Espumante e Alho Francês), and we were given the choice between several little fresh, warm breads.
In the tray there was also the traditional butter, and something delicious that was President Camembert Cheese.
And there was also an appetizer, "Pastrami with Radicchio and Romaine Lettuce" (Pastrami com Radicchio e Alface Romana), with some great apple and lemon sauce (so I think).
Oh, the alternative to the fish was Roast Pork with mushrooms (Porco Preto no forno com cogumelos).
The desert followed, "Traditional Portuguese Dessert with Mango" - Sericaia de Manga (I never heard about it, lol)
And finally the coffee which was also supreme.
So you see, the overbooking was not such a big deal.. at least not for me! (and the guy that was at the last minute separated from his wife and two young boys didn't seem bothered to be in business class either, lol)
Thank you TAP for such a pleasant flight... it was the best trip to Budapest yet!
